Rock anthologies rarely cohere like dance-music anthologies, because they have no groove running down the middle--at whatever level of execution, they're about meaning more than pleasure. Anyway, Michael Zilkha's rock tastes were more received than his disco tastes, and while there are lost wonders here--three great songs by the Waitresses, two or three by Davitt Sigerson--John Cale and John Robie and Zilkha's wife Cristina are middling at best.
