ORIGINAL FRENCH TOUCH B4 FRENCH TOUCH WAS EVEN BORN !
The limited 12 » Vinyl edition include the 1978 original song by Marie et les Garçons recorded in New York produced by John Cale, the original 1979 precursor "Re-Bop Electronique" produced by Michel Esteban, more than ten years before the so called French Touch hits the Dance floors. And its infamous Rework Edit by Tel Aviv producers Red Axes. Garçons originated from Marie et les Garçons, a new wave band from Lyon, France formed in the mid 70’s by patrick Vidal, Eric Fitoussi, Jean Pierre Charriau and Marie Girard. Quickly achieving cult status by signing on cult label ZE Records in 1977, and thanks to edgy releases, a performance at New York’s legendary CBGB's and sharing stages with Patti Smith and Talking Heads. The band lost Marie during the recording of their first album in New york at Blank Tapes Studio in 1979, and morphemes a trio into Garçons and pursuing Mutant Disco and Minimal Wave fantasies. The rest is history: A short Too Much to soon career celebrated in the underground, a deserved place in France's best kept secret hall of fame, and a whole lot of timeless music. The Digital version has two bonus edits by Venice Beach and Social Disco Club!
